The Bank Workers Charity exist to support the UK banking community past and present. We worked with them to create a new online experience.
The challenge
The Bank Workers Charity (BWC) give help to individuals in the banking community and their families. The BWC’s work covers a range of support areas, from providing financial benefits for those affected by the cost of living crisis, to mental health and wellness counselling.
We were tasked with designing and building a new website for the organisation. Our goal was to streamline the user journey. Foremost was helping users to easily locate the digital resources provided by the BWC, and get in touch directly if they require further support.
It was also important that the site design more accurately reflected the brand’s look and feel. Behind the scenes, the team needed a flexible Content Management System (CMS), allowing them to easily create varied and engaging pages.
The work
We started with a detailed discovery phase which included identifying user needs, reviewing existing analytics and facilitating user testing sessions with customers on the previous website. This led us to suggest a new site structure, which we refined and iterated with feedback from the BWC team.
We then began validating our thinking. Our early designs were tested with internal stakeholders and users alike. Through an iterative design process we worked our way through planning the new site’s user experience.
We worked very closely with our copywriter to brief them on a re-write of all the website content. Working in new templates, we were able to streamline the content refresh, allowing for a smooth transition process.
Once fully approved in design, we tackled the development process in two main phases; front end templates and CMS / third party integration. This allowed the BWC team to test and review front end components and layouts whilst the final content was still being finalised.
The website also integrates with other third party platforms, such as HubSpot and FormAssembly. We had to create flexible and secure integrations with these platforms to ensure a smooth end to end journey for all users.
The new website has provided the BWC’s clients with a more intuitive and helpful way to access resources and to get support.
From an internal point of view, the site is now a much better reflection of their brand. It also allows for streamlined content management workflows, and greater flexibility in general.
It has been a true pleasure working with Pixel Fridge on our website project. From the very first conversation, we have felt that we had a partner that understands us, what we need and how to achieve it. Together we delivered a site that is sleek, meets our audience needs and is easy to manage.
