by Gaelle Monin
UX / UI Designer
I’m Gaelle, I’ve just joined the Pixel Fridge team as a UX/UI Designer and I’m based at the London office.
Originally from Burgundy in France, I became a die-hard Anglophile after tasting my first fish and chips on the Brighton beach in the early nineties.
I eventually moved to London in 1999 with everything to learn and soon found my way into a career in publishing print production. I enjoyed working at a fine art auction house producing high-end art catalogues for the last decade. But as the move towards digital hugely impacted on the print industry and my role, I decided to prepare for a career change into UX/UI Design and retrained during lockdown. A transition into UX/UI suits my problem-solving nature and I’m excited to have landed here with a talented team that takes pride and care in its work.
In my spare time I enjoy taking pictures with an old analogue camera. To my partner’s confusion, I sometimes use the kitchen sink as a makeshift dark room to develop my own film.
Walks and bike rides at the nearby Walthamstow wetlands have kept me sane during the past few months. As the world slowly and hopefully re-opens, I look forward to going back to gigs and travelling when it’s safe to do so. I may even resume my old plans for a US road trip…

As the latest addition to the team, I will help create impactful solutions for the broad range of clients Pixel Fridge work with. I will research, test and iterate design solutions to ensure the client and user requirements are successfully fulfilled. And I can’t wait to learn plenty along the way.
And beyond the office hours, I look forward to getting to know my colleagues better at the next team ramble!
